Good Rainy Day Everyone!
As you know, REACT is still getting
themselves reorganized. We are tackling as much as we can, as quickly as
we can, so please be patient.
We have a number of projects in the works
and want to know what you think. I have attached minutes of the last
meeting and invite everyone to attend the next meeting on June 11 at 7:30 in the
Town Hall Chambers.
~ CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS
~
- Communities in Bloom will be planting
flowers at Rosewood Lodge on June 5th. If you would like to help out,
meet in the Rosewood parking lot at 7 pm.
- REACT and John Morgan need your help to
rejuvenate and maintain the Tall Grass Prairie west of the hospital. The
work will begin near the 3rd week in June and continue in phases throughout
the summer. We need volunteers to help plant, cultivate, weed and
harvest seed. This is an important task and your help is greatly
appreciated.
- REACT would like to
begin a cloth bag project. We would like to replace the plastic shopping
bags in our community with locally made, environmentally friendly, cloth
bags. We are calling on volunteers who have sewing machines and time to help
cut out and assemble cloth shopping bags. This is a major project slated
to begin in the fall. Details will follow.
- Don't forget the climate change
presentation on June 7 at Quarry Park Interpretive Center. You are invited to
enjoy an informative presentation and view some great displays. The
kids will enjoy a Bill Nye Science Guy video. Coffee to follow, silver
collection.
- My REACT email list may not be up to
date. If you know someone who would like to be a REACT volunteer please
reply and I will add them to the mailing list.
- Check out our new website soon! If
you are on-line you will enjoy blogging and sharing REACT news and view.
Again, please be patient - We are under construction.
That's it for now. Email me if you
have any questions or comments.
Have a Great Day,
Robyn Vande (secretary
REACT)
